An Uber car was rear-ended in the early morning hours of March 14, 2017, causing the driver to lose control, spin into oncoming traffic, and strike a cement barrier. The at-fault driver exited his vehicle and fled on foot. The Uber driver and his passenger were left dazed and injured.
Illinois State Police responded to the scene, on I-90 near North Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. Upon investigation, the officers found the at-fault driver’s wallet and driver’s license on the ground. Illinois State Police was able to apprehend and cite the at-fault driver in the days following the crash.
The Uber driver and passenger were severely injured. Both required immediate medical assistance. One year after the crash, the Uber passenger continued to rehabilitate.
