On August 7, 2017, a LegalRideshare client was passengers in a Lyft vehicle on I-90 Southbound. The young professional had ordered the rideshare car to take her to O’Hare International Airport.

The Illinois State Police arrived at the scene shortly after the crash. The officer immediately noticed the Lyft driver’s glossy, bloodshot eyes and smelled alcohol on his breath. The driver failed field sobriety tests. A breathalyzer test later showed a BAC of .154.

The Lyft driver was arrested for and charged with Driving Under the Influence, Driving Under the Influence with BAC .08+, and violating the minimum speed limit.
