While most rideshare drivers are more than fit for the job, it’s sometimes the reckless ones that cause issues for everyone else. Wrongful deactivations for drivers are nothing new and LegalRideshare aggressively opposes when drivers are taken off the road unfairly. We hear about it time and time again, and it pains us how a driver with a near-perfect record (for years), can be dropped instantly at a false claim by a passenger.

But there is another side. Some drivers ARE reckless, have been banned and somehow return the same (or worse) then before. In some cases they use fake or shared accounts. But the result is the same: it negatively affects every other rideshare driver on the road. Between dangerous drivers and the over saturation of drivers, what can be done?

While in no way a cure-all for all the issues around rideshare, we believe that driver training can have a seriously positive impact. For one, it educates drivers on how to handle accidents, and second, clearly signals that he or she has what it takes to be on the road in this capacity. Finally, such courses could help re-educate bad drivers and ween out those unwilling to get better. It’s a win-win.

As such, we’re working with Accident Liability Institute – an organization that has over 30 years of traffic safety experience and training solutions, with a goal to improve driver safety. It also helps lower individual and business liability.
