We launched our series on drivers, Uber Freight expands its reach, and we do a little video game trivia. Let’s break it down.
Drivers are bound to have interesting stories as to why they started driving. So, we’ve launched “In The Driver’s Seat” — a video series highlighting rideshare drivers. Check out why Dave started driving for Uber.
Uber Freight is growing…by reaching smaller businesses. In addition to Uber providing peer-to-peer delivery, like Uber Eats, the company is adding freight deliveries. According to Venture Beat: “Small and mid-sized businesses can tap into Uber’s network of carriers and drivers from their desktop and, with a single tap, book a freight delivery.”
On Wednesday, details emerged about the recent Uber employee harassment settlement. NPR reported: “Fifty-six people are set to receive an average payout of nearly $34,000 because they filed specific claims of ‘incidents of discrimination, harassment, and/or hostile work environment and connecting their experiences to their race, national origin or gender,‘ court documents state.”
Lyft has two words for you: GO VOTE. The company is offering free and discounted rides to get voters to the polls for midterm elections. According to the story posted in Mashable, The rideshare platform is also reminding passengers about voter registration deadlines on its app and social platforms.
We ended the week with a little trivia…video game trivia, that is! JennyMilk stopped by the LegalRideshare Lounge as we quizzed a live Facebook audience on general video game knowledge. Think you can score a perfect 10?
Have a great weekend!
